Guestbook

Our second visit to Harbour Cottage was just perfect. Cosy & warm to come back to after a good walk. We love sitting in the garden & soaking up the sights & sounds of Craster. The cottage has everything you could possibly need & just the best location you can imagine. Already planning next year's visit.

Judy Johnson,

Our 3rd visit and we are already planning our return. A delightful cottage, cosy and well equipped in an ideal location. The front patio is a wonderful place to sit and watch the world go by, listening to the sounds of the sea. We had an amazing week and were sorry to leave.

Dave,

This was our second stay at Harbour Cottage and it was just as wonderful. The cottage is so lovely and cosy in a very special location with wonderful sea views over looking the harbour. The coast path is right on the doorstep and the sandy beaches and castles are amazing. We only stayed for 3 nights this time but wished we could have stayed longer. Will definitely be looking to book again. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Victoria,

Our first January holiday & what a perfect choice Harbour Cottage was, so cosy to come back to & everything provided for a relaxing stay, we just loved that fire! 10 nights with incredible seaviews, walks on the doorstep & the Jolly Fisherman a stones throw away serving superb food. Craster is so beautiful, we will be back next year.

Judith Johnson,

Our first stay in Craster, having visited several times before. Harbour Cottage was the perfect place for us. Great location, with access to fantastic walks up and down the coast. The cottage itself was warm and cosy, with amazing views over the harbour. We were only there 3 nights, we will definately be returning for a longer stay.

Just back from a visit to Harbour Cottage at Craster in Northumberland.

The booking process was easy and Anne was quick to reply to any emails. Lovely welcome of a bottle of fizz, thanks for that.

Very charming cottage with peaceful harbour setting and fantastic views. Stunning coastal walks with breathtaking scenery. Lots of choice of places to eat out and local places to visit.

Rachel ,

Harbour cottage is just perfect and in a great location to explore the Northumberland coast.
The cottage is beautifully decorated, very clean and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The views from the cottage and private garden are breathtaking we spent hours just relaxing in the front garden with the dogs listening to the waves.
It's a short drive to the nearest town with plenty of shops if you need anything and buses leave Craster regularly throughout the day, there is also a local shop with a few essentials, a pub and a fish and chip van.
We have stayed here many times over the years with our children, they love to splash in the sea with wellies on and crab fish off the harbour wall in the evening, also plenty of large sandy beaches close by and lots of lovely walks for the dogs.
We have booked for next year and can't wait to get back to this fantastic place.

Marie McDermott ,

We recently returned from a week at the beautiful Harbour Cottage.

We were totally blown away with this charming old fisherman's cottage. It is a home away from home and has everything you could possibly want to make your stay perfect. There is nothing better than waking up to the sound of the sea or sitting outside in the evening looking across the harbour and beyond. We even saw dolphins one day!

The local beaches are some of the best beaches we have ever visited, the local pub is fantastic and the locals are so friendly.

If you're thinking about booking to stay here, book it now! It really is a beautiful cottage in a beautiful location!

Ps Anne was always quick to reply to emails and couldn't have done anything more to make our holiday so memorable.

Thank you and we will be booking again.

Paul Phillips,

We had the best relaxing week at the cottage. It was the perfect spot and we saw dolphins when we arrived. Brilliant location for the coastal walk with its own stunning coastline and harbour but also a short driving distance to some other lovely towns, villages and beaches along the coast. Lovely terrace at the front to wind down the evening with a glass of wine. Great paddleboarding opportunities too. We paddled in the harbour, Druridge Bay Country Park and also on the River Coquet with its leaping salmon.

Jayne and Tony Hart and Tracey O'Regan,

The cottage is in a great location in one of the prettiest villages on the Northumberland coast. It provided everything we needed & the private terrace overlooking the harbour is a real asset!
The view & walk to Dunstanburgh castle is great and there are other lovely walks from the village.
The Jolly Fisherman provided great food & is very dog friendly. Recommend booking though!
Day trips to Bamburgh, Alnmouth & Alnwick were fabulous & we found many incredible beaches.
Always happy to return to the cottage at the end of the day where we enjoyed a glass of wine on the terrace.
Also (& probably our highlight!) was watching dolphins as we sipped our tea in bed in the morning! We also saw them from the terrace at the pub. Very special!

Kathryn Tallack,

Having just retuned home(reluctantly !!)from a fabulous week at Harbour Cottage I felt that I had to say a few words about the cottage and Craster itself. As soon as we walked inside our lovely little home for a week we felt like we belonged there. The cottage is in prime position in the jewel that is Craster. Just a stones throw from the sea and with a view to die for, it puts its arms around you and makes you feel immediately at home. it has a little garden overlooking the harbour that is just made for watching the world go by with a glass of wine and if the mood takes you there is a beautiful B.B.Q on the lower level. If you want to eat out the pub is only an easy walk away,as is the famous Craster kipper shop. We will certainly return as it provided the rest that we all needed and for a party of four people Harbour Cottage cant be beaten. We will return!!

Patricia Mason,

Superb beautiful cottage situated right on the harbour with stunning views over the sea in the quaint village of craster. The cottage is equipped with everything you need and is easily located with lots of great hiking trails. It is easily accessible via car and not too far from a town, with regular bus routes in and out. I really enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to visit Northumberland.

Tia Lewis,

Fantastic cottage in a fantastic location. Everything was spot on ! Everything you need for a holiday stay is provided. Highly recommended.

Tracey Wilde,

Lovely holiday cottage in picture postcard setting. The view from the private terrace is gorgeous, overlooking the tiny harbour, Dustanburgh Castle and the Craster historic Kipper smokehouse.
Anne the owner and Di the housekeeper can't do enough to make your stay comfortable, even providing a bottle of fizz to settle you in on arrival.
The charming cottage has all you need from kitchen essentials to fishing nets and bucket and spade for the little ones. You can fall asleep listening to the waves on the beach in front of the cottage.
The dogs loved the walks up in the clifftop and there is so much to do nearby: Alnwick Castle, Lindisfarne Island, wildlife boat trips, beautiful unspoiled beaches and Seahouses. We rarely return to the same place for our holidays but we have stayed twice at Harbour cottage and are booked again for next year, it is a little piece of heaven!

Sue Reed,

We stayed in this lovely cottage in July 2021. It is in a great location overlooking the harbour. The cottage was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and well equipped. Two good sized en-suite bedrooms. Highly recommend.

A lovely cottage in a very special setting. the cottage was spotless, comfortable and very well equipped. We loved sitting in the front garden, tea or wine in hand, and watching both the harbour and passers-by.

Lots to do and see locally, good walks from the cottage.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Harbour Cottage. The cottage is fully equipped. It is a beautiful spot overlooking Craster Harbour & we loved sitting on the patio watching the world go by.

Janet & Chris Durham,

Our second visit to Harbour Cottage and we will definitely be back again. We really enjoyed the outside space especially the lower deck in the front which is sheltered and a real sun trap. Fantastic location with lots of lovely walks and outstanding scenery. Cottage was cosy and clean, bottle of fizz was a nice touch to get our holiday off to a great start.

Julie Batt,

We found Harbour cottage delightful – warm, cosy, characterful, comfortable and beautifully decorated, very stylish yet homely. Hearing the waves and sound of the sea at night was so relaxing, a real treat and the sea views are amazing. We had a superb time and stayed local – walking, watching the birds and spotting dolphins, fabulous. Neither of us wanted to leave. Thank you, we will be back.

Andrea,

Had the most amazing time at Harbour Cottage! It was our first time to Northumberland and definitely exceeded all expectations. The cottage was perfect for our family and dog, everything was lovely and clean and it was very well equipped. Hearing the waves whilst you were sleeping was bliss and having my morning cuppa in the garden was a great way to start the day. Anne was very helpful and always on hand to answer any questions. Would definitely return.

Charlotte,

Had a fantastic family holiday in this beautiful cottage. The cottage has everything you could possibly need and the location is amazing with stunning views. We would definitely recommend this place and hope to be returning very soon

Unbeatable location, listening to the sea as you lie in bed! Spotlessly clean, everything there we could have needed. Handy to have two en-suites.

A cozy and comfortable and clean cottage.

Arthur,

Just a beautiful place to wake up to the sounds of the sea. Lovely garden terrace just opposite and fantastic walks, especially to Dunstanburgh Castle. The cottage was so comfortable and had more than enough space for us. The housekeeper checked in on the first day to make sure we had all we needed.
We will definitely be looking to come again, thank you.

Julie,

We had a lovely stay. Beautiful location on Craster Harbour, pretty cottage decorated in seaside style with lots of character and a view to die for over the harbour. We spent many evenings sat on the terrace overlooking the little bay. Friendly and very helpful housekeeper on hand if needed, nothing too much trouble for her. The cottage had everything we needed for the kitchen (dishwasher tablets/washing up liquid/bin bags etc.) a thoughtful information pack for tips on eating out/places to visit. Even a bottle of sparkling wine to welcome us, very nice touch. Thank you Anne Chris and Di for a wonderful week. We have already booked again for next year!

Sue,

Beautiful cottage with everything we needed for a very relaxing break. Comfortable, cozy, clean, with an amazing view of the harbour.
